Instead of doing productive things I layed on the couch and finished a book Mary loaned me (Mennonite in a Little Black Dress--amazingly funny memoir. Laugh out loud funny). And then went out to lunch with Ashley to Arthur's in Hyde Park Square for the first time (fantastic cod sandwich). And then came home and layed on the couch with the kittehs some more and watched DVR'd shows.
Here's photos from my day:
It's freezing in the house. Vivienne is so happy it's blanket weather again! I think she's spent the last 24 hours under covers. |
Could this little doll be any cuter!?!?! I mean honestly. He looks like a little angel. |
Now, off to finish my wine, have some homemade hot chocolate, watch DWTS (Dancing with the Stars for you weirdos who don't watch...) and wait for my lovely husband to get home who bought me beautiful flowers today. :)
It might have been uneventful, but I enjoyed our lunch!!! And in case you were wondering it is absolutely not weird to throw your own birthday party. I do it almost every year...i love celebrating being alive another year!!!
ReplyDeleteYou liked Mennonite in a Little Black Dress? I tried so hard to like that book but was extremely let down; it was one of the few books in my life I just could not manage to finish! Maybe the ending was better than the beginning and I should have continued reading?
ReplyDeleteEither way, I am so glad you had a relaxing birthday. I think a day to just lounge at home would be a fantastic birthday celebration :)
Val I can't believe you didn't think it was funny!! I don't laugh out loud at much--movies, books, tv. But there were many many lines in this book that I just about died laughing. I'm so sad you hated it!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to add Crash, that discovering Arthur's with you made my day AWESOME.
